Moldursant
Moldursant was born in the streets and sidewalks of the city of Porto, and has been active since 1917 in the production of fine art materials and the application of frames to pictures and paintings. For the brand, more than a century of existence means not only experience and knowledge, but also keeping up with new techniques and trends in the world of fine art, which it sought to convey in a store and workshop full of personality. A strong identity, proven experience and an endless range of products presented in a shop window that reflects the essence of Moldursant to passers-by were the pillars that shaped the entire project.
Interior design project
In order to differentiate the store window and highlight the products that Moldursant sells, the decision was made to create a setting isolated from the rest of the store, with objects that represent the essence of the brand in a tectric combination filling the entire height of the walls. The walls were then lined with white lacquered objects, which gave the shop window more light and charm, capturing the attention of passers-by.
We also intervened in the frame display area, which was a challenge due to the amount of products to display in the limited space available. We chose to create fixed and moving panels with different depths, in order to overlap the products and at the same time allow everyone to see them as the panels moved.
The lighting was fundamental to visually separating the panels, since many products had to be displayed, and we also chose to paint the panels black to highlight the shape and edge of the frames and their colors.
In the gallery, we created a partition wall in canted gypsum to hide the storage area and toilet, thus bringing more harmony to the space. Finally, we designed a piece of furniture for the permanent display of Moldursant's estate and collection, ending the intervention in this space, now with more light, organization and display of the brand's identity.
